Though it can be bulky and cumbersome I think it's worth it to save $200+/. Since my 7D I've had a vert grip and would just prefer it integrated. Man I'd love to graduate to the 1Dx eventually. Enjoy your 1Ds3 and post some of your images sometime. I do miss the sound of the 1Series shutters but not the weight. Eventually, I got tired of carrying the backpack through airports so I replaced them both with a couple 5DIV's. At one point, I added a 1Dx and the 1Ds3 was relegated to the backup body. I owned the 1Ds3 for 4-5 years and loved how it handled and the images it produced. I think i've seen most go for about under $1k but then there's concern of shutter count, condition, parts needing to replace, etc. though both are cropped sensor i would figure an APS-H that's slightly bigger would be worth it for the price if you can find it for cheap. Newer tech and slightly lower price says purchase the 7DII, but the joy of using older bodies has me leaning towards the 1DIV. I am currently debating between a 7dII and 1DIV. I expect CPS UK would be similar regarding clean and check. Nice to have it clean, including sensor (nothing wrong with the sensor, just precaution from sitting around). I had mine cleaned last year at the Burbank, CA, CPS office right after the release of the "R" camera and RF lenses, so I got to try them out (with my SD card) in their office and outdoor patio. Do Canon UK not do sensor cleaning on the 1Ds3 now?Ĭanon CPS USA does clean and check on 1D3 and 1Ds3, but no repairs.
